Re: The Weight of Worry Cont.
Worry is a sneaky creature.
It crawls up your leg and on to your back,
Then perches upon your shoulders.
It seems friendly enough at the start.
A little irritating,
But just enough weight to let you know it is there.
After a while you get used to it.
You can manage it.
It seems to start becoming a part of your body… sinking in.
Until another one begins the ascent up,
Snuggles in with its friend,
And your shoulders begin to sag.
One day you wake up and something is not right.
You get up and look in the mirror.
You are shrinking…no that’s not it,
The weight of your worries is just bearing down on your shoulders.
Now you realize there is a problem.
What once were seemingly mild irritants have compounded
to be taking up more space in your body and spirit than ever.
One by one you must remove the creatures.
Sometimes you can just pluck them off and discard them.
Sometimes you may have to find just the right medicine in order for them to go away.
and
Sometimes you will need to ask someone else to help,
because they can get pretty heavy when they have been feeding off of all your energy for so long.
Worry is a sneaky creature and should not go unnoticed.
